Ryan Smith
Ryan is an active music educator and freelance musician originally from Hummelstown, PA. He currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he teaches Elementary Band in the Mt. Lebanon School District and maintains a private low brass studio. Ryan can be found working with various bands around the city. He is also the trombonist for Brass Metropolis, a Chicago tribute band.
Ryan received his master's degree in trombone performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in 2019. He served as a graduate teaching assistant to the Frost Band of the Hour Marching Band and fellow to the Henry Mancini Institute. During his time in Miami Ryan had the fortune to play with the New World Symphony and spent a week on the Broadway Tour of Fiddler on the Roof. Prior to Miami Ryan received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 2017. He studied music education and also received a performers certificate.
