This coming week, Prof. Mark Lusk along with professor of jazz trumpet and Cuban music at the University of Richmond, Mike Davison and friends will be performing Pictures at a Cuban Exhibition throughout Cuba. Pictures at a Cuban Exhibition is a multi-media show based off of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition which combines paintings and artwork created by local Cuban artists (as sampled above) as well as music by American composers and musicians. The big band for this trip would consist of 2/3 American musicians and 1/3 Cuban musicians. The group will be performing in the Santiago de Cuba area.
