Dr. Bradley Snyder
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Bradley Snyder is currently the bass trombonist with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra. A versatile musician, he has performed with the the Jacksonville Symphony, Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (FL), Sinfonia Gulf Coast (FL), the Northwest Florida Ballet, the Houston Brass Quintet, the Houston Brass Band, the Foundation for Modern Music (TX), Houston Jazz Orchestra, Agora Brass Ensemble (PA), Balcony Big Band (PA), the Bone Forum (PA) and the Pittsburgh Trombone Project (PA).
As a soloist Bradley was a finalist for the International Trombone Association's 2017 Donald Yaxley Solo Bass Trombone Competition.
Committed to furthering the trombone for future generations, Dr. Snyder is actively involved with the International Trombone Association where he currently serves as the online newsletter manager. Through this position, the organization is striving to connect to, and expand membership as well as promote diversity and inclusion in the international trombone community.
Previously, Dr. Snyder served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the trombone studio at Florida State University. His responsibilities included teaching applied trombone lessons to undergraduate music majors, conducting the Florida State Trombone Choir and Octet, and assisting with the weekly studio class.
Dr. Snyder received his Doctor of Music in Trombone Performance from Florida State University, a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and his Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from Pennsylvania State University. His previous teachers include Dr. John Drew, Allen Barnhill, Mark Lusk, Robert Matchett III and Bruce Lazier.
